Other risks to the stability relate to foreign intelligence services, organized crime, corruption, problems of economic development, uneven economic and demographic development, the unresolved status and the difficult situation of refugees, displaced persons and internally displaced persons as a potential source of instability in the region, the unfinished process of demarcation between the countries of the former Yugoslavia, uncontrolled exploitation of natural resources and environmental degradation, the consequences of natural disasters, as well as endangering the health of citizens due to radiological, chemical and biological contamination, the spread of infectious diseases in humans and diseases in animals, drug addiction, destructive action of certain religious sects and cults, high-tech crime.
